For the past two decades, cardiovascular diseases have remained the leading cause of mortality worldwide. However, the number of victims of these diseases continues to rise, despite advances in medicine and the implementation of new technologies. Why is this happening? Perhaps we are overlooking an important factor – the influence of stress caused by consuming negative news. Frightening Statistics The World Health Organization (WHO) confirms that cardiovascular diseases are the leading cause of death globally. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), approximately 697,000 people in the United States died from these diseases in 2020. In Europe, the European Society of Cardiology (ESC) reports over 4 million deaths annually, accounting for nearly half of all deaths on the continent.
